We have been debating the future of the Memphis Grizzlies forever. Their anachronistic style combined with the seeming instability of the team’s core begged the question: When do you scrap the roster and start over?

With Memphis now eliminated after a hard-fought six-gamer against the San Antonio Spurs, those questions will rise again.

Zach Randolph and Tony Allen, two members of the Grizzlies core whose roles have become somewhat diminished, will be free agents in July. So will Vince Carter. JaMychal Green will be a restricted free agent.

That depends. Fit matters. Health matters. Every major free agency decision is a dice roll, whether you’re signing an incumbent or bringing someone in. The record-breaking contracts for DeMar DeRozan and Mike Conley worked out last summer. The Rockets spent a combined $133 million on Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon, both questioned for their durability, and it worked out. The $94 million contract for Chandler Parsons didn’t work out. The $72 million contract for Joakim Noah really didn’t work out.

The future is a mystery. But the odds are strong that Griffin plays really Cheap Throwback Basketball Jerseys well when healthy, and that he plays (based on his history) about 80 percent of his team’s games. That would make most teams happy.

Things are going well for Morey and the Rockets right now. They dispatched likely NBA MVP Russell Westbrook and the Thunder in five games and get to rest while the San Antonio Spurs try to close out the pesky Memphis Grizzlies.

The Rockets wouldn’t be favorites against the Spurs: San Antonio would have home-court advantage and went 3-1 against Houston during the regular season. But Houston would have a real shot at winning the series and advancing to the Western Conference Finals for another potential bite at the Golden State Warriors. (If Memphis knocks off San Antonio, which remains a possibility, Houston would enter that series as favorites with home court.)

Utah Jazz point guard George Hill will not play in the team’s Game 2 matchup against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday due to left big toe soreness, the team announced.

Hill sprained the same toe in a Nov. 29 matchup against the Houston Rockets and subsequently missed 13 games recovering. His injury hurts a Jazz team already in over its head against a Warriors team with the league’s best record and two former MVP’s on the roster.

Hill found new life in Utah, averaging a career-best 16.9 points through 49 regular season games with the Jazz this season. He averaged similar numbers in Utah’s first-round series against the Clippers, but scored just seven points in 28 minutes against the Warriors in Game 1.

Hill enters free agency this summer after finishing the final year of his five-year, $40 million contract. In February, Hill and the Jazz failed to reach an agreement Cheap Original Soccer Jerseys on a contract extension. He reportedly plans to test the free agency market in July.

One of the most effective ways to defend the pick and roll is by icing it. The abridged explanation is that Harden’s defender would reject the screen by jumping out and angling his body so that Harden is forced to drive away from the screener. The screener’s defender would stay back and “zone up” the play, hoping to contain Harden until the primary defender can recover.

The problem is that the Rockets have mastered the counter attack to this strategy. Clint Capela and Nene are able to read the defender, and if they see they’re icing the pick and roll, they Cheap Qld State Of Origin Jerseys simply flip the screen to the other side.

He’s skipping the draft event to eat seafood. Garrett won’t be one of the 22 attendees at the draft in Philadelphia. Instead, his plans if he gets selected No. 1 overall include hugging his parents and then getting right back to eating his crawfish.

He says it all started after he saw “Jurassic Park” as a youngster. Garrett Vancouver Canucks Cheap Jerseys said he would dig holes in hopes of excavating fossils. He also compares his playing style to an ancient reptile.

“Deinonychus,” Garrett told [Maria] Taylor. “It’s a type of raptor. It’s fast, vicious, it’s going for the killer blow and it’s got quick feet. I think I’ve got all of those traits.”

In one last desperate attempt to right the ship, the Rams traded away a big part of their future for the No. 1 pick in 2016 and drafted Cal quarterback Jared Goff. This in spite of the fact that air raid quarterbacks have a dismal track record in the NFL and plenty research to suggest that trading up for Goff just wasn’t worth it.

(By the way, the outlook for this year’s quarterback class says they’re even more of a gamble.)

But they’re STILL rebuilding. The NFL draft is a franchise’s ultimate IQ test; the Rams failed miserably. They weren’t the first team to do so, and they won’t be the last.

It’s easy to see the results of a team failing that test. I’m cynical. I assume a team is going to screw it up until I’m proven wrong. But we’re not here to wallow in my own wrecked fandom — we’re here to fairly judge the work all 32 teams do in the draft.

To do that, we have to establish a minimal set of standards, a cheat sheet for how Philadelphia Eagles Cheap Jerseys to pass this test.

Former Texas Longhorns running back D’Onta Foreman entered the 2017 NFL draft after three seasons in Austin. Foreman’s junior year was his best of his career. He rushed for 2,028 yards, and accounted for 15 touchdowns. He was awarded the 2016 Doak Walker Award, given to the nation’s best back annually. On Friday night, he was selected in the third round of the NFL draft by the Houston Texans.

But we learned in the days leading up to the draft that the running back had to deal with the loss of a child in the middle of his season. In an exclusive interview with the NFL Network’s Andrea Kremer, Foreman tells the story of his son, who was born 17 weeks premature and weighed just 15 ounces on Sept. 16, 2016. He was named D’Onta Foreman Jr.

So out of all the positions on the field, Peppers is the most undersized as an offensive lineman. Weighing just 213 pounds, Peppers would be significantly disadvantaged compared to other NFL offensive linemen.

But it’s more than just size, as Geoff Schwartz pointed out for SB Nation. There’s gotta be trust.

Offensive lines are also getting smaller. Sam Borden wrote in October of 2016 for the New York Times, “As a result of enhanced nutrition techniques, changing offensive styles and adjustments to football’s rules, [Joe] Berger and his brethren of undersize linemen appear to be a growing demographic in the NFL.”

Peppers can be the most undersized lineman, though. Seeing him line up for a play would be pretty funny because of the size difference. It would also be neat to watch him try to go up against Cheap Jerseys USing Paypal somebody like Aaron Donald, even though we know the likely result.

And heck, this past season, the Seahawks started George Fant, who went from being a college basketball power forward to a starting left tackle in 20 months. Why not New York Giants Cheap Jerseys Peppers?

Hayes, a 29-year-old truck driver and dog breeder from the Ninth Ward in New Orleans, was sentenced by Judge Buras after being convicted on Dec. 11. During the trial, Hayes argued that the shooting, which took place after traffic incident, was unintentional.

The trial was polarizing within the New Orleans community itself, bringing into focus the city’s maligned criminal justice system.

Orleans Parish district attorney Leon Cannizzaro originally called for Hayes to serve up to 60 years for the offenses in December after the conclusion of the trial.

Hayes’ sentencing ran Wednesday and Thursday at the Orleans Parish Criminal Court. Hayes’ lawyers presented a motion to get a new trial, which was denied.

Judge Buras also set a trial date of June 26 for a pending aggravated assault charge against Smith, according to Ramon Vargas of The New Orleans Advocate.

Mahomes was never a star. A sixth-round pick by the Twins in 1988, he went on to post a career Wins Above Replacement total of 0.1. His earned run average was 5.47. He had five saves across his 308 appearance, and he made 63 starts. He was versatile if nothing else, the sort of innings-eater who’s stocked pitching staffs for an eternity.

There are thousands of pitchers like Mahomes scattered throughout baseball history, but it’s impressive that he hung around major league staffs for as long as he did. That’s not easy. He had one really strong year in his career: 1999, when he came out of the Mets’ bullpen 39 times and notched a 3.68 earned run average that was 21 percent better than the league average.

Enough about that, though. His son Patrick is now an NFL quarterback, as he Cheap Jerseys Mastercard makes the transition from air raid to the pros. No matter how brilliant his career is, Mahomes won’t be the Cheap Jerseys Mall first professional ball-thrower in his own family.

Midway through the season, Colorado State was legitimately disappointing. A competitive loss at Minnesota was far from embarrassing, but the Rams were unconvincing offensively in a 23-14 win over UTSA and unconvincing defensively in a 47-21 win over Northern Colorado. Losing by a combined 82-24 to Colorado and Wyoming was unacceptable.

The season swung with a 31-24 win over Utah State. The Rams Cheap Chelsea Jerseys trailed 24-10 at halftime. CSU played a nearly perfect second half, surged to win, and looked mostly fantastic the rest of the way.

Or it may have also been a function of drug rumors that swirled around the prolific passer and his partying ways in the Steel City. While Marino never publicly failed any tests, his Panthers were a team known for partying their ways. Marino’s agent, Marvin Demoff, admitted as much.

“People absolutely looked at it that there was a group of guys on the Panthers that just had too good a time,” Demoff said. “It was never about addiction.”

“[Marino] told me that the school had heard about a group of players Cheap Jerseys Direct Coupon using marijuana or drugs, and they internally tested all the players. They were all clean.”

Despite a lack of public evidence, talk of Marino’s partying persisted. Was it the reason why he lasted so long on 1983’s draft boards? Probably not — but the Dolphins were certainly happy with the outcome.
