McKay, 58, is entering his 14th season with Atlanta after joining the organization in 2004. He also serves as president of AMB Sports & Entertainment, which oversees the Falcons, MLS’s Atlanta United, and Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The $1.53 billion facility, which will be home to both of AMB’s pro teams, is scheduled to open in July.

Amid the Falcons’ 11-5 season that ended with a Super Bowl 51 appearance, the team also signed general manager Thomas Dimitroff to a three-year extension in November. Dimitroff’s new deal now coincides with coach Dan Quinn’s contract.
