Former Texas Longhorns running back D’Onta Foreman entered the 2017 NFL draft after three seasons in Austin. Foreman’s junior year was his best of his career. He rushed for 2,028 yards, and accounted for 15 touchdowns. He was awarded the 2016 Doak Walker Award, given to the nation’s best back annually. On Friday night, he was selected in the third round of the NFL draft by the Houston Texans.
But we learned in the days leading up to the draft that the running back had to deal with the loss of a child in the middle of his season. In an exclusive interview with the NFL Network’s Andrea Kremer, Foreman tells the story of his son, who was born 17 weeks premature and weighed just 15 ounces on Sept. 16, 2016. He was named D’Onta Foreman Jr.
So out of all the positions on the field, Peppers is the most undersized as an offensive lineman. Weighing just 213 pounds, Peppers would be significantly disadvantaged compared to other NFL offensive linemen.
But it’s more than just size, as Geoff Schwartz pointed out for SB Nation. There’s gotta be trust.
Offensive lines are also getting smaller. Sam Borden wrote in October of 2016 for the New York Times, “As a result of enhanced nutrition techniques, changing offensive styles and adjustments to football’s rules, [Joe] Berger and his brethren of undersize linemen appear to be a growing demographic in the NFL.”
Peppers can be the most undersized lineman, though. Seeing him line up for a play would be pretty funny because of the size difference. It would also be neat to watch him try to go up against Cheap Jerseys USing Paypal somebody like Aaron Donald, even though we know the likely result.
And heck, this past season, the Seahawks started George Fant, who went from being a college basketball power forward to a starting left tackle in 20 months. Why not New York Giants Cheap Jerseys Peppers?
